Carmela Martí presents a sustainable curtain collection for the hospitality sector
The possibility of dressing windows with sustainable fabrics certified by GRS (Global Recycled Standard), which are also flame-retardant and meet all necessary requirements, is a real novelty in the sector.

The latest trends in the hospitality industry indicate that sustainability is becoming a driving force in all areas. Guests seek eco-friendly hotels that have the least environmental impact.
The textile industry, as a fundamental player in this sector, is aware of the need to change its production methods and move towards a circular economy, where the lifespan of textiles is extended through a recycling process.
The textile interior design company Carmela Martí, specialized in hospitality, has launched a collection called Posidonia made from recycled-origin fabrics. Among these fabrics, there is a wide range of recycled sheers and blackout curtains that, in addition to being flame-retardant and complying with industry regulations, have nothing to envy in terms of aesthetics compared to traditional fabrics. These fabrics are certified by the GRS, which guarantees the sustainability of the entire manufacturing process.

These fabrics are made from polyester derived from plastic bottles and containers made of PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which in many cases come from waste found in seas and oceans. This, in addition to reducing one of our planet’s main problems—plastic waste pollution—has other ecological advantages. On one hand, the energy required to manufacture recycled polyester fabrics is less than that used for virgin polyester. Additionally, by recycling plastic, we reduce our dependence on petroleum as a raw material.
Thanks to Carmela Martí, the possibility of dressing windows with sustainable fabrics that are also flame-retardant and meet all necessary requirements, without losing any design or functionality, is now a reality.
