5 tips to improve your guest’s rest at your hotel

Find out how your guest can feel at home and will come back at your hotel.

If there’s one thing a hotel guest looks for, it’s the ability to rest well and feel at home. The key lies in the textile materials, those elements that help make the stay completely comfortable. Therefore, thanks to our extensive experience, at Carmela Martí Decoración, we detail the five points that every hotel establishment must take into account to ensure guests return again and again.

Blackout curtains

An essential element is curtains made of blackout materials. These are fabrics with a very high degree of opacity, capable of blocking up to 100% of the light entering the room. This way, total darkness can be achieved in the room, allowing the guest to rest as long as needed. At Carmela Martí, we always recommend installing curtains with two materials: sheer and blackout, as this allows the light from outside to be modulated as wished.

Carpets in the hallways

Another indispensable element is the installation of carpets in the hallways. Besides offering a sense of elegance and comfort, they are an excellent solution for minimizing the noise that can result from other guests walking through the hotel or dragging their luggage along the hallway, especially at night.

Acoustic curtains and upholstered furniture

A very interesting proposal for noise reduction is using acoustic curtains in common areas. These curtains are made with materials and layers that allow for the absorption of ambient noise, so even if there are different conversations in the same space, a relaxed and calm atmosphere can still be maintained.

The four colours that convey peace and serenity

Undoubtedly, the color palette used in each room determines the mood and is primarily employed in the textiles that accompany the other elements in the room. The shades should be light, delicate, and soft, as well as in pastels. In this regard, the four colors that evoke tranquility, peace, and serenity are whites, beiges and nudes, sky blues or Pantone’s Classic Blue, and grays.

Perfect room temperature

Balance is key, and the same goes for the room temperature, which should fluctuate between 18ºC and 21ºC, even reaching up to 23ºC in summer. This way, it doesn’t feel too cold or too hot. But the secret lies in the textiles, as they help the guest achieve their own balance. For example, sheets can be adapted according to the time of year or the location of the establishment; quilts can be used in warmer seasons and duvets in colder ones, etc.
