Textiles for healthcare sector

Nursing homes become a home for many people. That is why, although hygiene must always be a priority, the rooms must remain cozy and pleasant. Decorative textiles have the ability to make any space feel more homely.

At Carmela Martí, within our Hygienic textile collection, we have developed decorative bedspreads with antiviral properties that reduce the risk of contagion and prevent the proliferation of viruses, including COVID-19.

These bedspreads not only add warmth to the room but also protect the sheets, making the bed a temple of hygiene. When someone lies down, their face comes into direct contact with the sheets. However, throughout the day, we sit and lean on the bed with clothes that we have worn elsewhere. Inevitably, we leave objects on the bed whose disinfection is not guaranteed. The bedspreads are removed when going to sleep, ensuring that the sheets have not been in contact with any germs.

Another element that adds a lot of warmth are individual blankets, as they can be used to cover the legs or wrap oneself during colder moments. These can be accompanied by decorative cushions that provide comfort and can be used both to decorate the bed and to support the back in the armchair.

There is no doubt that decorative fabrics dress up the rooms and make them more pleasant places. If we add to this that their antiviral properties help prevent the proliferation of viruses, they are the perfect complement.
