The textile interior design of “the room of the future” created by Carmela Martí
Carmela Martí and the ITH TechYroom 1.0, the first AI-powered hotel room, currently on display in Benidorm.
Technology, innovation, and digital transformation are integrated into the room of the future, the first hotel room in the country featuring all the advancements in Artificial Intelligence. The Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH) and Turisme de la Comunitat Valenciana have brought to life a groundbreaking project in which Carmela Martí Decoración has contributed with its most innovative textile solutions alongside Resuinsa.
The initiative, ITH TechYroom 1.0, is located at the Hotel RH Corona del Mar in Benidorm and incorporates a wide range of technologies and digital solutions to enhance the guest experience. It also focuses on facilitating the daily tasks of hotel staff. To meet these challenges, the textile interior design proposed by Carmela Martí aims to simplify housekeeping tasks and personalize the guest’s stay, making it more comfortable and pleasant.
We have designed a custom bed skirt tailored to fit the adjustable bed, adapting it to the specific needs of the structure as it must accommodate the bed’s movements. Additionally, it is made from durable materials to ensure long-lasting quality.
We have also contributed to the development of the curtains, introducing a significant innovation: the 100% blackout feature completely blocks out light. This is highly valued in a city like Benidorm, allowing guests to rest more effectively. Furthermore, the curtains, which are fully washable, have a fabric-like appearance with the same texture on both sides. They also have thermal properties to improve the room’s energy efficiency.
In summary, at Carmela Martí, we have committed to innovative textiles that meet the needs of both guests and hoteliers, highlighting the innovation in what is known as the first “technological room.”
