Posidonia, the sustainable oasis for Hostelco Live Hotel

The 2022 edition of the Hostelco fair will showcase the latest trends in the hospitality sector. As in previous occasions, Carmela Martí will design a space within Hostelco Live Hotel (Pav. 7, Room 13), a recreation of a hotel where visitors can firsthand experience all the innovations in interior design and technology.

Carmela Martí, an expert in textile interior design for the sector, presents a room inspired by Mediterranean Posidonia to create a unique ecosystem, where travelers surround themselves with sustainable materials and find an oasis of peace and tranquility.

Fabrics made from recycled fibers of plastic packaging will play a crucial role, showcasing once again the material’s ability to transform spaces. These fabrics are part of the collection that gives the room its name, offering a sustainable solution to all the decorative textile needs a hotel might have, from sheers and blackout curtains to throws, cushions, and bed skirts.

Additionally, she will collaborate with the artist Sol Sánchez, whose work is created from recycled objects. Elements like wood, iron, small treasures from nature, or discarded objects with their own life are the foundation of her pieces.

In the artist’s words, “each of my works carries the living soul of the recycled object, to which we must always give a second chance.” With Sustainability at the forefront, the objective is to create an experience that raises awareness among travelers about the importance of the ecosystem we live in and the necessity of using sustainable materials, minimizing their impact on the environment as much as possible.
