Textile trends will focus on nature this year 2024
Materials, patterns, designs… next year’s textile trends will be a true ode to nature, with environmental sustainability as their guiding principle.
The new year ushers in new trends in textiles. Throughout 2024, styles inspired by nature and environmentally sustainable items will continue to dominate. All this will be surrounded by comfort and balance, with environmental sustainability as a crucial point. The details will make a difference against a prevailing minimalist and elegant style, introducing elements of sophistication.
To keep you updated, we have precisely compiled six textile trends for 2024. Take note:
Naturalness and Warmth. One of the trends that will establish itself next year is the so-called ‘Japandi‘ style. This is a combination of Nordic sobriety with the naturalness and warmth of Japanese aesthetics. Hence the play on words. Fabrics that exude warmth and neutral colors combine to make spaces like the bedroom more inviting.
Striped and Botanical Prints. These types of patterns began to gain importance during the summer of 2023, consolidating in 2024. Stripes allow for various combinations, especially if the room’s walls are plain. Meanwhile, prints related to plants and flowers align with more natural and sustainable trends.
Checkered. However, if there is a pattern that deserves a special mention, it is checkered, which will be one of the main textile trends for 2024. We will see them on bedding or cushions, becoming a contrasting element with the rest of the more sober style decor.
Green and Blue Shades. Continuing with this ode to nature, textiles are inspired by soft and sophisticated green tones such as mint, aquamarine, pistachio, and sage. Blues will also be very present. This color range can vary from more intense shades like sky blue to softer ones like Horizon Blue, one of the colors Pantone has indicated as a trend for next spring. Among these tones, pastel pinks and earth tones will also sneak in.
The idea is to evoke the feeling of being surrounded by nature to give coherence to the spaces. Thus, polyester with a linen look is one of our favorite options for table linens, for example.
Environmental Sustainability. A trend that has been on the rise and will gain even more importance in the textile sector this new year. Recycling is the order of the day. In fact, at Carmela Martí, we already have fabrics made from fibers based on PeT plastic in one of our collections, Posidonia.
At Carmela Martí, we stay up to date with all these trends to materialize them in the designs we create for our clients, always innovating so that quality and sustainability are present in every piece. Additionally, the textiles are developed considering the identity of each establishment to ensure the necessary differentiation and harmony in the textiles.
